THINK I DON’T REMEMBER

Assurance on face, cowardice beneath your vision
Seats taken, single man on a mission
Of all things constant, what does time tell you?
You think I don’t remember but I do.

Sweaty palms, knees are heavy

Still in bed but you’re scared already
You’re facing a firing squad but you have no clue,
You think I don’t remember but I do.

Angry words, your resolve is weak

Maybe I’ll just let you take a peek
It hurts when they say, “Mohul who?”
You think I don’t remember but I do.

Zero commitments and a thousand promises

And hollow efforts to fulfill those wishes
It’s now time to deliver, it’s been long due
You think I don’t remember but I do.

Smart decisions, a false sense of pride

No longer taking bruises in your stride,
Making excuses about having had chances few
You think I don’t remember but I do.

Waning dreams, a goal which seems miles away

Challenges and obstacles which used to fill your day
Rub the grit off your face and the dust off your shoe,
Get up- you think I don’t remember but I do.
