I had the great privilege of backpacking across Sri Lanka recently. The handy Canon that I carry almost everywhere journalled my travels and provided me with a lot memories to fall back on.
I have decided to publish several episodes of my photjourney across the island.
This post is dedicated to the capital city of Colombo.
The facade of the National Museum.
Some of the ruins of Polonnurawa inside the museum.
An exhibit of a headless Buddha in the museum.
The throne of the last king of Kandy.
The arches say it all.
The vast lawns of the museum.
An exhibit of a three-headed goddess.
The play of light inside the museum.
A Colombo street on a sleepy afternoon.
The meditating Buddha at the Gangaramaya temple.
The outer charade of the Gangaramaya temple.
Perhaps the best place to be in the city during sunset- the Galle Face Green.
Street hawkers peddling their wares at the Galle Face Green, overshadowed by the Shangri-La hotel.
