Friendly on the pocket and situated in an unpretentious locale in Hitech City, Swach stands out with its reinvigorated offerings of Karnataka-style fare. The eatery’s ambience is breezy and inspires stimulation of the highest order.

Delicate and full of room for its patrons to either sit or stand and enjoy their grub, Swach is like a breath of fresh air. The masala dosa is perhaps the most-ordered dish on their menu, along with the chitti idlis that they make with painstaking care.

I have tried their idlis a lot of times- purely because I cannot imagine a world where idlis do not exist- and was not disappointed at all. Their vadas have lived up to expectations as well as the wide range of chutneys that go with them: groundnut, ginger and of mint as well.

When I was there around sunset on Saturday, I was prodded to try their masala vadas (popularly known as dal vada in Tamil Nadu and Kerala) and was pleasantly surprised with the aroma the delicacies generated. They transported me back to the sultry evening in Varkala in March 2022 when I tried them for the first time.
The coffee at Swach is slightly more bitter than I like it to be, but that is surely no reason to complain. It will, I am sure, appease those of us who love our coffee to be very strong. They have introduced a thali (plate meal) to their menu as well, and I believe it will cater rather well to folks heading there for lunch.

The main draw at Swach remains its affordability- none of the items on the menu exceeds INR 100 (in fact, only the masala dosa at INR 60 exceeds the fifty rupees mark.) With an ambience that is bound to please even the cruellest of critics and extreme care given to systematic procedures on hygiene, Swach is a win-win for those seeking South Indian fare at affordable rates.
