PARENTAL GUIDANCE

And when mama elephant asked her little one
“Why don’t you spread your big ears and fly?
The sun has set and the day will soon be done
Look at Mr Eagle’s son- how he soars so high!”

Daddy dog took his little one to school
And asked to have a word with the headmistress
Struggling to even float in the swimming pool
His daughter was suddenly under a lot of stress

Uncle cheetah made an appointment with the PT
Told him to make his nephew throw javelin instead
Discussed it over cakes and a cup of tea
It was something about competition that he’d read

Mama butterfly was the smartest one of them all
Taught her son morality and fed his growing thirst
Instructed him to do good to everyone- big and small
Celebrated beauty within oneself and others at first.
