A WALKING DISASTER

Confined within the walls of mediocrity
Struggling to run alongside time
He’s joined the race and made the climb
Working towards a road away
From failure and a road astray

Grappling with the here and the now

He’s evaded finding his worth
What’s with this hell on earth
That drains out every precious day
Which his lips say and eyes betray

Coming to terms with his own mortality

Going inside his private shell
And stories he won’t live to tell
Dealt a card but hope is still in play
Which over time will outweigh

Wrestling with a conscience remorseful

Choosing to fight through this pain
Lighting up a tunnel inside the train
Trying to build a fire in the rain
Where he finds himself again.
