YOUR POEM

How do I compare you to the summer breeze?
The most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen and these
Lips itching to speak but somehow appease
To quiver patiently and give into the unknown
Pleased is the soul when it is truly all alone
Chains of bondage and broken love set in stone

Like a lighted match to a train of gunpowder

Like the rain allaying every cynic and doubter
This heart escaping my chest growing louder
But you’re not aware of this tiny predicament
And as I casually ask you what you meant
When you spoke of love and being content

You may not agree but I hope we talk someday

When you tell me and we walk the night away
This tattooed cohesion of two souls may not stay
And tell everyone this is your poem, please do
You don’t mind me putting this in words, do you?
How wonderful life is, even this zephyr seems new.
