TRY

You have failed enough times, you’ve got up more
Withstanding the rain, you’re drenched to the core
You have learnt that your caged soul has no home
You remember that they took a century to build Rome

The flag is well down, your heart has lost its way

And now that everything seems so dull and so gray
Remember the times you stood up on your own
But has the cold now soaked into your bone?

Sorrow fills up your plate and tears wash you down

Toiling in the heat, just wanting to go out of this town
Have you allowed fear to get in your mind’s way?
That your blood no longer boils seeing your soul stray?

Remembering the past, you take a foot into the unknown

There’s dread in your eyes and hatred in your tone
But you have always chased the hurricane and killed its eye
Are you now just waiting for it to gently pass you by?

Get up from the dirt and walk tall like a man

Kill your conscience and make your own plan
Yes, I know that this house is safe and very warm,
But weren’t you always taught to chase the storm?
