DRIVE YOU HOME

Long after the Sun has set,
And the waves have crashed and met,
Whenever you’re in any doubt,
Know that you won’t have to shout,
I’ll be here to drive you home.

Long after your legs have given way,

I won’t care if it’s night or day,
When you’re tired and feel like you’ve had enough,
I’ll be around to tell you that life’s not so rough,
I’ll be here to drive you home.

Long after the Sun has met the horizon,

I’ll be here to tell you that you’re the one,
And when you cry and say that life’s no fun,
I’ll be here to tell you that the day has been won,
I’ll be here to drive you home.

As soon as the stars come out,

We’ll count them and say our love’s starting to sprout,
I take your hand and tell you what I want to say,
The world’s really not so gray,
I’ll be here to drive you home.

Long summers and the freezing cold,

Debacles, ruins, you’re trying to be bold,
Breaks my heart every time you say you have to go,
But you don’t have to work tomorrow,
I’ll be here to drive you home.

Long after the last train has gone,

I’ll be here to turn the heater on,
It’s the end of another long, tiring day
And I’m begging, pleading you to stay,
Maybe I won’t always be here to drive you home.
