A young man set out with his parents in his Audi,
Looking for a prospective bride,
They had searched all town but found nobody,
To fulfill their distinct needs inside.
The process seemed serious and just,
And it delivered all the same,
The man wanted someone he could trust,
His parents wanted a girl who could be tamed.
They looked at brochures, they looked in stores
And they looked inside shopping malls,
But no women were found inside the doors,
Or any willing to break down the walls.
The man hooked up on the internet,
Looked for women with low prices and shares,
Thinking he wouldn’t have to break a sweat,
But found no women who cared.
They looked in the papers, looked inside cars,
While in traffic moving slow,
The mother shopped for them in the bazaars,
The father searched for them on the go.
He tried every store, while he lost a pound,
From the barber’s to the one of old Joe,
But no women were found lurking around,
At the end of it, there was nothing to show.
But one day, their neighbour said,
He knew someone who knew someone,
And they tried to talk to them instead,
Found they were looking for an in-law son.
So the families joined, the dowry was met,
The fathers just shook hands with no shame,
A deal was struck and a timeline was set,
But their children didn’t know each other’s name.
