STRENGTH

Maybe we don’t speak tonight,
Using just our eyes to decipher another language,
Our code for “Who’s stronger between the two of us?”
Maybe it’s just from another realm.

We speak while we’re shivering,
And while we’re too twisted to even think straight,
The power to evade this fate has escaped from my reach,
We crave for the pain we’ve lost.

I am losing all of my consciousness,
Let me know how concrete this is for now and for ever,
What will it take to persuade you, to tell you I am not giving in?
I am oscillating between being asleep and awake.

This moonlit trail has brought me far,
I’m with you again, but my dreams are perhaps split in half,
It feels like I’m in two places at once, but I am giving it my all with
The hurt you bring and the damage I create.

So before you end this for once and for all,
Know now that I’m not leaving this game for good,
Maybe I can still touch you and feel all your nooks and crevices,
One last time- please let me hold my breath.
